I found two big greys in a rock parling lot in the middle of Chester IL growin out from under a chunk of concrete. And another time I found 40 big yellows along the road in the ditch near a Historical road side marker.

I was riding down the road on my trusty atv and had to stop to get a drink looked down by the creek (no not out of the creek lol) i was at and seen a big yellow went to pic it up found bout 20 more right next to it in the creek bed comming out of the sand

i hate to say but ive never found mushrooms, never acutally went and lookd but thought by now i would find some. i only know what a morrel looks like. not any others.

to me all that is good is morels other people tell me they found weird sounding shrooms they also have reds but i dont eat them they dont taste good to me they look like an overgrown morel huge and red though some get like 10pds plus u wont pass one bye in the woods unless ur blind:rolleyes:

I gues I don't have any real weird places, but I have found em on some REALLY STEEP slopes before, almost cliffs, and yup, I go get em.

there was one time if i can remember right it was on a rock out in the middle of the lake it wasnt that deep of a sot but still it was cool to see that i thought that they had to have a certain amount of ground under it guess not i was just a wee lad then haha

NO! NO! man, we get morel mushrooms here. Not far off now. Some great eating.

Those "other" kinds grow in the northwest I think...;)

I was just wondering this yesterday.....the weridest places..I heard morels like rocky soils...lol

probably either out of the crack on our front sidewalk...
or a big mess in the middle of a junkyard...

truthfully the darn things will pop out just about anywhere...

It was only about 25 feet off the road next to a parking area and a fire ring where everyone parks and fishes. Right there in plain view from the road. Not a real big one but who cares right. :D

The other day the daughter and I found one right in the middle of a gravel road.

But when I was younger we found two hats full next to a pond at Bush Wildlife in MO, crazy thing though was late June when we found them.
