Deno and I neither one knew what it was but we cleaned several quail today that were full of the stuff, among grasshoppers and ladybugs.

A high carb legume... that is good for quail then and explains why they were full of the stuff.
When my dogs went across that patch of this stuff yesterday they went crazy and got real birdy. This was about 1/2 hour before sunset and I would imagine several quail had been in there feeding recently before I got there. I did get into a few birds not to far away from that.
