but not too far away either - just down by Kentucky Lake. Our entire family clan goes down there every year around Christmas to celebrate the holidays and look at the lights. If you've never been, I highly recommend it. They do a bang-up job of decorating and the food is awesome! They're famous for their two inch porkchops, and make sure you save room for dessert! Their website can be found here: http://www.pattis-settlement.com/main.htm.

Bam, it sure is pricey -we all went Dutch, so that helped. I just can't imagine taking all those decorations down and putting 'em back up every year! Boggles the mind! When we went, the petting farm thingie was closed, but I did get a picture of the waterwheel -I love those things!

I like how that first one came out........
Gosh, Patti's brings back memories. My wife and I used to head there for supper a couple times a year when we were students at Murray State University. Loved it during the holidays. Nothin' like flower pot bread and strawberry butter. My parents live about 30 minutes south of there on the Lake Barkley side...need to get back to Patti's sometime...killer pork chops.
BTW, great pics!

we usually go down a couple of times a year..but have never been to Patti's I'll have to put that on the next trips list...
hmm we have some points to burn on free motel rooms..could be a plan...
Bob - I'm going to shoot Lady of the snows again this year too...maybe Critter won't be so crabby and in a ruch as last year LOL
Hey gretch just so you know there is a new hotel really close...on the left like a Microtel or something now sure.....I checked on rates for it before and stopped and got one of those coupons books and I think it was like 39-49 bucks ......I love this coupon books, but usually you have to get kentuckys in il and il in kentucky or mo. ya know.....I think we stopped at the rest stop up by rend lake on I57 the last time to get them......I can grab you one next time you need one.....They have saved us a ton of money.....also the points are wonderful too....our favorite hotel now it the Country Inns I just love them....you can check out books in the lobby, sit by the fire, and it's all decorated like a country home......They are a new chain as well......We used to take off all the time for a couple days....we haven't lately with all this picture taking and hunting there is no time.....
Also there are several little cabins and trailers around for rent too..........Beautiful area......I think you would like patti's I think it's kinda fancy though.......but you don't even have to eat there if you don't want......It's like a whole little area......the resturant, shops, waterfalls, playground, animals....It's nice to try..........Also there is another resturant across the street there too.....(Mr. Somebody) I can't remember his name.......:D
Lots of weddings there too.....It's nice down there now and nice in the spring.....I couldn't go dead on summer...everything is higher around the area....
Oh and tons of campgrounds around the area too gretch.....some of them I remember being like 22 bucks a night.......for that....we will pay 40-50 let the kids swim, free breakfast and free wireless instead.....
Sorry so long I just wanted to give as much detail as I knew........
