Birdhunter1 11-07-2007, 17:25 Interesting, somebody once looked at my palm and said I'd be married and die at age 28. Even though I don't believe it with me turning 28 I am a bit paranoid. Ok now I've let the cat out of the bag and yall know why I am becoming more a health nut.
Speaking of ticks I found out today that Gunner Jo has lyme disease.
Bird, deno don't count............lol..........
Birdhunter1 11-07-2007, 17:31 It wasn't Deno, Deno would have read my palm and said "you're a WUSS with soft hands" because mine are not sandpaper and granite like his.

gretchensteele 11-07-2007, 17:34 Hey Bird..give gunner Jo an extra treat just for me and an extra scratch..I know I shouldn't play favorites..but golly I like that pup!
thats an old looking tick, did ya burn him...LOL guess not cuase Bam surly would have photo'd that ;). Sorry to hear about the Limes, what do they do for it? or is there anything?
Birdhunter1 11-07-2007, 17:49 I have some pills he is supposed to get for the next two weeks, I was so out in Kansas today that I didn't even think to ask him what the pills do or what next.
gretchensteele 11-07-2007, 18:06 my guess is he probably got tetracycline or doxicycline..those are fiirst line antibiotics for lyme...
gretchensteele 11-07-2007, 18:10 here's a link I found...
http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/lyme.html
Birdhunter1 11-07-2007, 18:15 doxicycline
That's it, like I said only about 2 miles long and not 26.
gretchensteele 11-07-2007, 18:23 My doc has me on doxicycline darn near all of tick season..every time I get a bite..I get two weeks worth just as a preventative measure since my imuune system is such a horror show..
She gets really crazed when I show up with a a dozen tick bites and three millon chigger bites...
that's what b was on when he got the Rocky Mountain.....It is different than lymes though....very fast, very ill and most people don't recover....I think like 60 % fatal.......not 100% sure though.......
also some STL docs told b he was immune now??? Who knows though......
Birdhunter1 11-07-2007, 19:07 The vet said he self prescribes the same stuff to himself.
