No Bam, those persimmons are not ready yet. Wait patiently till after the first frost. The skin is still too smooth for them to be right. If you want to taste one, go ahead, but be sure to have a lot of water to wash the numbness out of your mouth. ;)

holy moly bam have you ever got a hney hole for shrooms...the one you broke open...if you had got it when it was still frsh..it's a variety of puff ball...and the are absolutey the best to eat when they are fresh...yeah those are what folks around here call honeys..and oysters..you've got a good thing going there kiddo...
skip the clearance rack at wal mart this week and go to amazon and order yourself a shroom field guide..go ahead and get a used one..maybe you'll get lucky and it will have fiiield notes in it...looks like with that kind of stuff you are going to need one!

I know.....I told you ...Really we were already wet and cold and such but I couldn't help going to check.......lol.......Poor Milky he always ends up and looks like chocolate milk by the time I get done too............:D :D

Well we all ended up and looked like chocolate milk after yest...We had to take off as much as possible on the porch again and then straight to the washer...lol.......It's still steady rainning here but maybe it will lighten up for you.......

who me..? I think everyone should experience the bitterness of an unripe persimmon, I've introduced them to everyone I've every taken out in the fall, kids, my wife and any other unknowing souls, it won't kill ya, but you'll never forget it, so what's wrong with a lasting memory from the woods?

I gave one to my then future sister-in-law back in '75. She still married my brother, but she has never tried a persimmon again. Some memories persist real good.

H, I cut that one off a bit but I do have more shots of that one......It was really really colorful and looked neat.....but I was in a hurry and was more interested as to what was around the bend instead........
