While we all strive to shoot nature just as we see it..it will often make for a much more pleasing shot if you do a smidgen of arranging of helping...(hint see bams acorns)
Yes, it is great to not move or arrange - but sometimes it doesn't hurt a thing..
Whent shooting say the shrooms..clean away from the debris..get the stick that's right in the center of a good view out of the way..move the leaves back alittle so the stems are visable..pull those few little offending and shadow casting blades of grass...
Turn that persimmon so the stem rosette is facing up..
things like that...don't fool yourself..if you think the great nature scene photographers don't do things like this! LOL
I also start saving items from the woods this time of year to shoot in still lifes during the winter..leaves etc can preserved in a shoebox full of silica..nuts polished and given a spray of clear coat...
rocks washed and polished just a tad...
I have a whole box by the time cold weather gets here...

just a side note - I also use these items for decoration on the "winter Solstice " tree...;)
