Wondering how folks did....met a little girl - (about 8 I would say) at the parade last night who would tell anyone who paused her great deer hunting story...it was so cool to see this little jumping up and down and telling all who would listen about getting her very first deer yesterday...
still smiling about her excitement!

Me too??? anybody even goin out in this heat? Supposed to break good come Wed... bout time too, but still no rain ahead.

I'm glad I "had to work" the air conditioned gun show this weekend. I'll be out in the am though...

Gave out a lot of cards, so we may be seeing some new folks on board.

If and when it does break cold I'll be running bird dogs! My uncle who is a die hard bow hunter hasn't even been out yet.

I took my bud's nephew out Saturday morning, all we saw was 1 racoon and 2,346,816 mosquitos who were immune to bugspray. he went out yesterday evening and this morning, no deer, oh well that's hunting. I think heat is one of the worst conditions for deer movement during daylight hours.

we set up in two walnut trees that were only about 12 foot apart, I was hoping to film him getting a deer.

Glad to see that a few kids got to spend some quality hunting time with there mentors, teaching them what deer hunting is all about !
Sorry the weather was not a little bit better, but that is also what hunting is about. Making the most out of what mother-nature gives you. ;)
A least all the kids who wanted to go deerhunting, could finally take part in our state wide youth season & take whatever kind of deer they want now. :)

Maybe not a lot of deer were taken this weekend, but I know a lot of good memories were. :D

I took my cousin out this weekend. All movement was real early and real late. The only deer within shooting range were small bucks though. Great times though.

Well sorry things didn't work out for y'all.

Yeah, it was a hot one. But we set our plans and schedule and stuck to 'em and it paid off.

Ben got his first deer!

I will post some pics and the story very soon.

A buddy of mine got a permit for his boy to youth hunt Baldwin lake. They saw no deer and out of 20 kids only one deer killed.

Good grief...that is terrible. I wonder where they all went. That place is thick w/ them.
