Before everyone getsall up tight this town is on the nebraska state line side of Iowa.

I looked at the map because my daughter lives in Iowa, but she's a ways north of where this was shot.

I am a bit confused on the Cougar thing. Is every state trying to eliminate them or are they just shooting those that are entering populated areas?

I think they are jumping a little fast at killing them. Why don't they tranquilizing it, and relocating it. I understand shooting the one that was to close to the kids.

People kill what they fear and don't understand. The wolf is a prime example. Sure they have attacked humans a few times, but are much more likely to head the other way.
