I was thinking about getting out after some catfish one night this weekend. Has anybody else been out or heard if anything is biting?

Just might. Mrs Life has been too busy to talk about plans for the weekend. We'll be busy Sunday morning (both of us sing in the choir), but may go out and do some fishing or camping Sunday afternoon. It's hard coordinating stuff like that when we both work different shifts.

I just checked Rend Lake's website for the water level. It's only .62 inches higher than the record low set in 2000. Sheesh!

Bankfish at the Coulterville Lake! :) set some tightlines with grasshopers or chicken livers...let Mrs. Life try her hand at the crappies.......I would fish this weekend but the darned Fall Festival is tomorrow and then I have to do that thing withthe Miller Girls tomorrow night..who knows about Sunday yet..I may just sleep it away...

That's a good plan. We won't have to burn all the gas it takes to haul the boat, plus the lake there is still high enough to be able to fish. Might even run into Smokey if he gets a ride down thataway.

Rend looks bad Im telling ya.....I couldn't believe it......Marion City looks bad too...I went down there yest.....did get some pics of that and talked to an older man and he said he didn't do good at all with the crappie....he looked hot and worn out..........Felt so sorry for gramps, I helped him load his boat...lol...He prolly thought I was nuts down there by myself......I just wanted to snap some pics though....I bet I could walk out to the island down there now......lol....

the drought is seriously getting out of hand..our water plant is having to use all the chemicals at the upper limits of safe because the water coming in at a higher temp and full of algae...I wonder how long it will really take to recover form this year?

Rend or Carlyle for some cats. Rend being as low as it is makes me think Carlyle may be the beter choice.

B. NO TROTLINES OR JUGS ALLOWED IN SKI AREA OR COVES OFF THE SKI AREA. ALL TROTLINES AND
JUGS MUST HAVE NAME AND ADDRESS ON EACH JUG AND TROTLINE. JUGS AND TROTLINES CANNOT BE
PUT IN BEFORE 5:00 PM. AND MUST BE REMOVED BY 8:00 A.M.

9. Hunting is not permitted on or over the Lake nor is the transportation or discharge of firearms or other weapons permitted on or
over the Lake.

10. RULES WILL BE ENFORCED. Failure to abide by these rules will result in either arrest and/or denial or further use of the lake.
11. Chemical Treatment of Lake.

WHEREAS, the lake is under the jurisdiction of State and Federal EPA Regulations, there shall be no chemicals or any foreign
substances placed into, or allowed as runoff or leaching into, the water of the lake or on the property of Southern Illinois Power

My lips can be sealed w/ a big old strip steak. Speaking of which Tom's Foodland in fFeeburg has whole loins for $5 a pound. They average about 10-15# each. Great marbling and quite tender to cut even when raw. On sale thru tomorrow (Sat)

One thing I do see alot is the speed limit enforced...and the dock thing......Folks have a fit about that...I seen some of the laws broke on there though.

But if it's only 20...someone better go up to the lake tree inn tonight and tell all them tourney fishermen in those new tr21's that they can't fish their tourney here tomorrow.....lol... I seen the tritons down here all the time.....

Coulterville? where's that? I was thinking of just heading down the road to Cedar and dropping some chicken livers off the dock. They're still getting boats in and out of there fairly easily. Went down to the bridges at Crab last weekend, but struck out on anything of size, really didnt stay long though, Logan was having a ruff go at it casting in the tight confines.

It's at the intersection of IL 153 and IL 13. The lake is just north of town off 153. That would be a ways west of y'all.

I bet this warm October is a real shock to your system, isn't it? Then again, up there in northwest Iowa they had 100+ temps this spring when it was still comfy down here.

Eat, like I said when I pmd you we usually have better luck after the first cold snap......IDK about the other folks here though......

Oh to have 40 degrees and wet... eatmore..C'ville does have a horsepower limit, and the coves are really shallow now..it might be a better bank fishing spot..but if you stay through the mid part you would be alright..maybe smokey had had the boat there more recently than I have...

G, where from the intersection is it. I never even knew C had a lake there. North of the tracks I assume?

actully dave it had another one too but then they built this one its about well a mile or two down the road from that intersection going north. Yea man i had one on there but like G said its pretty bad never seen it that low so i would prolly stay away from it cuz you cant get to the bank to easy man haha or close to the bank its pretty shallow so i would say its a pretty bad spot right now i had trouble with a 14ft jon and a trolling motor haha but the bank fishing wasnt that bad
