My father in law went out over the weekend and brought home some beauties! He says he caught over 70 fish - many of them keepers! Here's some of the good ones!

Her daddy wanted her to hold it by the mouth, and she just didn't want to cuz of the ridges/teeth.
lol.....she really puts on the sad face huh....lol
Yep, up in the grass is where they are hitting. Any bait that mimicks a dying shad up in the grass (downwind) is perfect. Good luck!
Have you all noticed the difference in the color of fish from crab.....wow look at that!!!

I bet them tasted real good. I guess your father in law doesn't tournament fish! Try eating a crappie and turning these bass back so we can catch them again!

True fishermen and women ;) also feed their families sometimes too though....

um eat some little one's LOL, I don't keep them but thats just me, I fish with a fella that keeps a few for he and his wife to eat and I guess we are a sight in the boat as I catch one and show him then throw it back, he is cussing me for it, LOL then he catches one and puts it in the live well to eat and I am cussing him, LOL..... we do more cussing at each other than fishin I think, Hmmmm, maybe thats why we really go?! The old man sure is fun to fish with tho! to each their own, right. But the little 3/4 to 1# ones are better tasting....LMAO!
Im not saying we eat them..check out my catch and release posts........I can post some for you all but Im just saying that I know a few folkz that are on fixed income and go fishing to have meat in the freezer just like alot of us do with the deer.......2 or 3 deer might feed a family for a long time....2 or 3 fish won't.........lol......

My FIL is a "true bass fisherman" and does practice catch and release. In fact, he rarely brings any fish home. But twice a year, we do a big family fish fry and we like bass, so he brought those home specifically for us to eat. And in case it needed clarification - he didn't bring home all 70! LOL!
And the two fishes pictured were the two biggest ones (they make the best pics, after all)- the other few he brought home were the littler guys, and let me tell you - they all tasted just as good.

Uh some people fish not so YOU can win $$$. This seems to be a growing problem w/ our sports... Trophy only mentality will in the end hurt the hunting and fishing for future generations...
These were caught on a public lake to a person who paid for the right to catch and do with what they please w/ legal fish.
I love crappie too, but a Largemouth is a member of the sunfish family, and they taste mighty good too...

Since I have never in my entire life limited out on bass (or any other game fish for that matter) I doubt the few I keep will hurt trophy fishing anyway. What we do keep we also eat.
