Just walked in the door....covered with mud, bugs and god knows what else:eek: .......Need some id on these shrooms:confused: ....and boy, was that a trip today.......whoo, with two youngins too.I think we have gone where no man has gone before........(that excludes gretchen):D lol.....

one , two and the last one are oyster..looking a little old though...next to last is some type of polyfore, and the other two are a shelf type..only the oysters are edible..and they look a little past their prime...but once they've been on those trees you can expect them there again, and you can also look to see if there are new ones coming on as well..if we ever get any rain.......

Bam, ya gotta start feeding the fam on these outings so they don't start gnawing on those trees outta sheer hunger...a little trailmix, some apples..anything ...the poor dears prolly got splinters.. I bet yer gonna blame it on the beavers;) ;)

dave, yes i was a beaver...but we were all ready for dinner when we got home after all that hiking and trompin in the mud...I bet my boots weighed 20lbs at one point..lol....
We didn't take any of that fruit..maybe next time....

You really don't want to eat the persimmons yet BAM. Believe me. Mrs Life tried one that seemed ripe Saturday and got Gretchen and me to do the same. Be the time we got halfway through we realized Mrs life was a little off on her timing and our mouths and throats started puckering. Mrs Life is used to Korean persimmons and most of them don't have to wait till a freeze.

yeah..but I did really think at first she was right and I'd been waiting until frost all these years, and really didn't have to..the fullest ripest parts were indeed good and sweet, it was that still teeny green bit by the stem that slapped me! LOL

We didn't eat em......I just took a pic.....I know where it's at though.....:)
Gretchen, I can only imagine the stuff that I overlooked too going 100 miles per hour with the kids.....
I think maybe you do need to come down sometime......and yes, seemed like the oysters were on the willows........LOTS of old dried up ones but my sd card was full and I didn't have any more on me......I didn't think I was gonna take that many pics......:)
We also seen several little white-gray spots on the treez like you showed me at Ferne.....does that mean more is gonna pop up there? I should have mark a couple places too......and if you come bring your snake boots, your gonna need em..:eek:
