Plant native species when ever possible where ever practical. A lot of CRP acreage in Illinois is Cool Season grasses, and the warm season needs a disk or a different fire regime.

They are marginal at best for quail. Studies have shown orchard grass to be no different than fescue. There is a lot of assistance out there for people to establish habitat. It just isn't widely used.
