Plan on morning hunts. this week all my deer are feeding in the picked corn. Still to hot for evening hunts. Like Bob sez. O yes bring a lot of bug spray.

Another thing to keep in mind (Lynn pointed it out) the youth gun season is the first weekend of archery season.
This year for the first time the youth season is in every county so bow hunters must also wear blaze orange.

I seen a couple yesterday stirring margaritas in a pond, then a few more cooking some clover greens. The rest of the herd was packing up to leave for Florida for the winter!

Most of them I've seen have been hanging out in the suburbs. Maybe the feel it's safer there. Either that or they like eating tulip bulbs and stuff.

A bummer? Kids getting their very own chance out there? I don't see any "bummer" in that.

But just to be sure, I'll check when I'm out with one of my boys in Johnson!

The deer I've been seeing are in or in route to picked corn. The dry summer has resulted in smaller ears that the combines miss part of and there is a lot of loose corn lying around. And the fact that there are no acorns.
