A landowner's trail camera has confirmed a mountain lion sighting in Shannon County near Mountain View MO. The picture was email to the Missouri department of Conservation and confirmed by MDC agent Brad Hadley on Aug. 9th. The picture was taken on July 29th.

There are so many here already it wouldn't have a chance at establishing a territory...:)

notice it says missouri, still no hard, true evidence that i've seen of any in illinois, show me proof, then maybe i'll believe. If there are as many eye witnesses that have seen one, then why has there not been any true pics from trail cams, field photographers, etc., coming forward. Missouri, yes. Illinois, NO. Evidence, not heresay.

And if we had a photo no one would want to believe it anyway. It would get whittled down about as fast as a snowflake in Hell...People believe what they want and ignore the rest. The majority of people don't want to believe that there might be something big enough left in our world that could possibly eat them. If I say I saw my first real live cougar when I was 7 it is not just heresay, it is a fact and a testimony. 4 other people saw it at the same time and two of them were adults. If it wasn't for a stray dog who got to that field across the road before me and ended up in the cougars mouth I would have been dinner... We watched as the Cougar causally walked to the edge of the woods with fido in it's mouth. I've seen at least 20 Cougars and Black Panthers in Southern Illinois since then and I'm 55 now. No, it is not just heresay, it's a fact...I don't have to prove it to anybody...However, before you practically call me a liar you need to get out there and walk about a thousand miles in my moccasins. Then you might have the right to piously wave off anything that does not fit into your little window of reality...Like I have said many times, they never left Southern Illinois, they have always been here...And they are still here...

Like I said in an earlier post, I saw one a few months ago in the back yard. It was chasing a bigfoot, but before I could get the camera, a UFO swooped down and snatched both of them up.
