I fished coffeen last weak and only caught small crappie. Carlyle is still really high so I was wondering if anyone has been to pyramid any time lately catching crappie thanks.

I fish the feen too and its been a messed up year with the crappie. Could've limited out quite a few times but most fish I've caught were a 1/4 short but atleast next year should be better. I remember never really catching anything under 9 inches and 12 inchers were abundant. Were you fishing the north end?

I mainly fished coves along the main lake south all the way down to the dam. I didn't have time to go north eccept that one really big tree thats close to the bank fishing area by the rip rap close to the boat ramp. Between me and my dad we caught around 12 or 13 over 10 but probably caught 15 or 20 unders before a keeper. we caught half the keepers in one big oak tree that was siting over 8' of water. They were right under the crown. Biggest was probably 12". I was wandering about pyramid because last year I did pretty good there but it was earlyer in the year so I was wandering if they were still biting.

We caught some bigguns in Pyramid three weekends ago.. And not as many the following weekend, same size.. Still spawning.. Then last weekend nothing.. But it was windy as heck and nasty.. We switched to bass fishing so last weekend probably not a great indicator.. If I tell you the lake my family will kill me.. But I will share that it was in the Captain area and it was not Super Lake... They were big! Texan big! On minners of course, I even had one bite/nail a 5 inch Fluke, thought I had a bass.. Pick any of the clear water lakes in Captain's area other than Super Lake, now they may be in Super Lake, but I wouldn't know cause by then we were doin' OK on good size largemouth on big spinnerbaits.
Water really warms up slowly due to extreme depths.. You may be timing it just right..

Ya I know the tree your referring too by campground but that still considered part of the south. I was talking about on the other side of the train tracks, that's where the best fishing is at because its not affected by the hot water.
