With is warming up a bit the blue gills seem to be pretty aggressive.

Bluegills are a lot of fun to catch on fly rods.

Was at the reservoir in Salem a couple weeks ago. Caught some small crappie that were sporadic to say the least. But a few bluegill were fairly good size. I might have to venture there tomorrow.... before the Mrs gets up ;)

Was at my moms pond on Thursday morning, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, I caught 17 white and hybrid crappie, they were hitting good on a feather tail jig, Pink head, chartruese body, yellow tail. Avg size of 9 to 10 inches. Now I have a nice mess in the freezer. Sorry no photo, but the camera was dead and I had to get to cleaning them before the rain came in.

Cool that you caught them on a flyrod! They really put up a good fight that way!
