Yep, me too.. My boat leaked just enough to be annoying, and I got sooo sick of fixing differing leaks.. Here is what I finally figured out. (Hey so you have been doing this for years, so what maybe it will help some other broke d_ck like myself) I pushed a section of 1/2 inch pvc through the drainplug with the "bell" on the lake side of the transom.. I cut the pvc just inside the hull with just enough meat to glue a pvc ball valve in place, then I siliconed the crap out of the assembly. The boat leaks.. And so what, I get on plane to go to the next spot.. Reach down and open the valve, all the water siphons out.. And I mean quick too.. With no drain on my batt like a bilge would do.. Then just close it up before coming off plane. What is really cool is if it gets windy enough to push the boat around a little too much you can flood the hull a little to add a quick 500 or so pounds to fight the wind.. Really helps in a little Jon boat. It has given me a little more time on this old beaten hull, and will allow me to get another riveted boat (rather than spending big$ on an all welded boat) once I replace this one eventually with no concerns about a little leakage.
