Gotta check Henkel's. He still does his updates regularly. Just did one Tuesday though things may have changed with the 70degree weather.

bank fishing for crappie may be a bit tough, the water is probably still too cool for them to be moving into the shallows. If you can find deeper water near a bank, that's what I would try. Or try the spillway, I recall that the crappie start being caught there sooner than in the lake.
Call the Corp of Engineers' hotline for daily updates about the lake - 618-594-4637. It plays a recording of pool elevation, release rate, fishing reports etc. and is updated every morning.
I call for the pool elevation and release rates so I know how high the river will be at our clubhouse.

I went in a different direction yesterday, south to a power plant lake, Lake Egypt. The wind was brutal, only about 8 to 10 boats on the lake and everyone was saying the same thing, nothing biting. I fought the wind till about 4:30 and could not find a single crappie, all I caught was one small bass, But I may try it again on Saturday. Those warm water lakes should get good soon.
If Fishing from the bank at Carlyle, the spillway might be your best bet.
