And Im guessing you didn't have your nephew with you this time huh......lol........My kids scare em off everytime...... mdoc 09-17-2007, 07:43 This pic was taken with my Nikon Coolpic 5700, I also have a Minolta A200 with a 1.5 Teleconverter. Keep saving my $ for the a Nikon on Canon upgrade. No kids around this time. Herons are hard to get close to, this one was actually by a little parking area by the lake. mdoc 09-17-2007, 07:48 Here's one from the Minolta... http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/jmord/c.jpg BAM 09-17-2007, 08:25 Awesome...........I am so bad with saving though.....I want a canon too....well see....with the gas prices and electric it is hard to save anymore...and our darn water...100 a month? crazy! Oops back to the subject sorry had to vent! lol lifestudent55 09-17-2007, 08:27 It's nice the heron posed for you long enough to get pics with both cameras. Those are some nice pics. mdoc 09-17-2007, 08:49 I have the Nikon mounted on a short tripod that I can keep in the seat next to me. I also bought a window mount camera mount that I keep my Minolta on. Makes it nice if you are shooting long shot like for deer. BAM 09-17-2007, 08:52 I need one of those window mount things.......where do you ge those at ? and how much are they? mdoc 09-17-2007, 08:55 Got mine at Cabela's http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0006873710123a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&No=40&Ntt=tripod&noImage=0&Ntk=Products&QueryText=tripod&Ntx=matchall&N=4887&Nty=1 gretchensteele 09-17-2007, 09:02 Great heron shots...the big blues at our city lake have pretty much gotten used to me finally...and I just slowly glide up to them in my little washtub boat LOL...Course when the take off over my head it's like 747 going over... Bam - if you run a google search for the window mount tripod....you'll get a gazillion returns..probaly Porter's www.porters.com or Adorama www.adorama.com carries them too if you are shopping around...most of the time I rest mine on my jacket or that rug that was in the car... |
