Anyone familiar with Washington County Lake? What's it like? Are there houses on it?

i dont think there is a house on it i think there are houses around it but not having the lake as a back yard if you got wat i mean i havnt been there in a while but if i remember right i dont think there is a house on it its a reallly nice lake very well kept up

WWashington County doesn't have any lake side houses tha I can recall. I was just there a about 6 weeks ago...they are strating to develop around it a bit..there are some what I call mc mansions going in near the entrance but none close to the park or lake actually. there are some camp sites w/campers fairly close..what were you wanting to know? It's fairly close to us too...I'll try to help you out....
It's fairly good sized..some little fingers/nooks etc..some nice docks for fishing from..and Smoke is correct..it's well maintained and clean area..well kept...I usually make the loop and come out the back..looks like it would be decent hunting on that back side...The supt. there is kind/wise enough during shroom season to leave notes at the parking areas and campgrounds reminding folks who may not know that turkey hunters will be in the woods until one...LOL

Thanks for the info. We were just reading that they want to take 60,000lbs of carp from Washington County Lake. Whenever we hear something like that we can't help but think "Bowfishing opportunity!"
I would like to know how much they're paying to have them netted.

no bam, I don't think it will get like that - there's too much farm ground around it, that folks won't turn loose of...the house that Smokey is talking about is on 127 ..and belongs to a major league baseball player..but I can't remember which one.. the other houses..are going up right where you turn off..nothing at all close to the lake..it's a state conservation area...

That is crazy..I would be really PO'd about that if I bought property on the lake only to discover that I can only use part of it..

I know, it's only 1 cove but still SIPC ownes the lake and can do what they want, we knew that but still....., I wanna use it just because...We looked at a house over there for sell and I said well, the only good thing would be that we could fish this cove....lmao......I wouldn't wanna live with the richies though, we would be an outcast, rednecks don't fit in that well............lmao!
And now a whole subdivision........crazy....and what the people are paying for the lots.....I think the last one down there sold for 70,000 or something and the one over by me g on the other point was 225,000 just for the lot.....
Our land that we found for 10 a acre just went up to 18 an acre and it's not cleared or flat....and that's the cheapest....
