I've been using a Canon S3 IS and shooting in manual- it's a really great point and shoot and has a nice zoom lens. I take a lot of pictures, though, so I'm thinking about upgrading to a DSLR. What camera do you use?

I have a Kodak Easy Share that I took all my pics on here with but thinking about the canon rebel or nikon d40 somewhere in the near future. The zoom on my little point and shoot camera is what is bothering me. It only has 3x or some crap i don't know, but I wanna get better shots of the deer.

THat's the same model you were using of mine..it's just silver instead of black...I've seen them go lower than that for that model..does it just come with the kit lens or is that one with the kit lens and the 55-200mm...if it includes both it's a pretty good price...

BAM

Oh ok.....How much are the 40d's???? or do I wanna ask?
what's wrong with weddings? that would seem like fun?

Weddings are horrific and hard work..on your feet at least 8 hours..no do overs..tricky lighting..crazy people...minimum of 3-400 shots delivered out of usually around a 1000, churches tha don't allow flash...churches that don't allow during theceremony so you have to recreate it..and still get them to the reception on time..oh they are like nightmares...

oh and the 40D is currently running right at 12 -1300...

oh ok kewl..yea, come to think of it we actually had candle light at our ceremony.....lol.....so um yea, that would be tricky, my photographers house burnt so we were limited to just what othe people took unfort. She did try to have some film still developed but it just didn't work out. And of course there was no charge, however that's not something we can do over! lmao...We had to use "other peoples" pictures that they took and well um they suck pretty much. At least I have some though for the wedding album.
Maybe well have a big ann. party or sometihng one of these years...who knows? 10 is coming up......do you know any good photographers? haha just kidding.....

Oh yes, the 40D! *droooool* That's on my dream list - I'll probably end up with the 20D or the 30D for my next camera. I don't really care for the plasticky build of the 400D (XTI) and I really really want the scroll wheel.

Yup, Bam, Canon's are certainly where its at. Especially if you ever decide to invest in a pro quality DSLR - that way you won't have to rebuy all the glass.

As to the 350D (XT), I've seen it new on sale for around $500 and as little as $400. I think we'll see a nice price drop on some of the older models for the Christmas season.

But the important thing is the marriage has lasted. Anybody can have a wedding, but not everybody succeeds in having a good marriage.

Oops, sorry Bob. I didn't see your note till after replying.
