I heard there's a guy in Collinsville who repairs outboard props. Ours got roughed up a bit and I want to get it redone. Anybody know of someone who's good at repairing aluminum props?

DetectDave 09-14-2007, 22:16 You can drop it off at Dori Marine in Freeburg and they have a guy that does a fine job pretty reasonably. 539-9881. lifestudent55 09-14-2007, 22:17 You can drop it off at Dori Marine in Freeburg and they have a guy that does a fine job pretty reasonably. 539-9881. Thanks Dave. I'll give him a call. Most places I've talked to farm their prop repair out. DetectDave 09-14-2007, 22:27 I'm sorry..I meant that they have a guy that picks it up but he does do good work pretty quickly. Might call them first if yer still interested. Tell them Dave Fellows sent ya. lifestudent55 09-14-2007, 22:34 OK. Thanks. I'll do that. BAM 09-14-2007, 22:36 You mean he can't say Detect Dave.......lol :D DetectDave 09-14-2007, 22:40 Actually he could...the Dori boys and I go way back....nearly 26 years back when they had a shop in FvHts right where Peerless Furniture is now. BAM 09-14-2007, 22:42 I was just teasin.....we were all talking about that.....It's funny to hear your "Screen Name" in person! Luckily I didn't have that prob. with Gretchen the other day.......lol......... lifestudent55 09-14-2007, 23:34 Yeah, my wife only knows Fun by his "real" name instead of his screen name. It's a bit different. BAM 09-14-2007, 23:39 We actually have ours on are license plates and such because that's our initals. So if you all see us honk and yell SILO lol...just kidding..... I think I know most peoples real names on here.....after being on here so long......lol...... What does yours stand for>>? We need to have a post about that....lol..... gretchensteele 09-15-2007, 05:49 I have to use my real name..my poor old MS addled brain can't remember a bunch of differnt screen names..LOL bdw 09-16-2007, 10:45 Try Wayne's Props in Mt. Vernon, IL 618-242-7767 He did my outboard reletively cheap when in spun out. lifestudent55 09-16-2007, 14:37 Thanks bdw. I'll check with them too. I'll probably wait till later when we're less likely to be putting the boat in the water since the prop's still usable. I could always put the old prop back on while fixing the new one two. It helps having a spare. |
