A photo it didn't happen... :)

Looked out my front door this morning and saw something tan crossing the corner of a field about 300 yards away and was shocked to see it was a large cat. Then I realized it was a Cougar and ran to get my canon(camera)! When I got back a few seconds later the cat had disappeared into the brush? I watched that corner for at least another hour and didn't see it again however the blue-jays were throwing a fit down in that direction for some time after my non-sighting...:) Now I think I know where a lot of dogs and cats are disappearing too...

Photos of tracks would work.

Got a trail cam? Put it in that corner of the field. Put out a " meal" for the cat.

Let's see, how many Cougars and Black Panthers have I seen in Southern Illinois since I was a child? Somewhere between 20 and 30 I believe. Putting out bait is a good ideal for sure but I have posted photos of foot prints on silo several times already and that don't count for much. When deer season goes out I may concentrate more on getting some good photos. But even if I do a lot of people will just say they are photos of pets people have turned loose? Most humans don't want to believe there are animals around big enough to eat them. :)
