Hit Hazlet this last Wednesday.. Was the first hunt since the youth hunt this past Sunday, and there were some monster roosters out there. Me and dad got our 4 roosters very early, only seen one hen all day and she was walking in the middle of the road. Was very dry out there but this recent rain probably changed that and areas 2 and 12 are probably pretty wet right now. They got a full weekend this holiday weekend all spots online booked up only standby left. Ran into good ole CPO that day also. Was standing on the side of the road by area 2 when a rooster got up and flew across the road. I didnt even lift my gun to shoot. Thats when he came around the corner and said nice job on that bird there, way to not shoot across the road, I know how tempting it is when they jump up like that and fly across the road in the open. Glad I was following the rules as that would of ruined a great day. :cool:

That is always a fun hunt. Love that place.

We were also at the youth hunt on Sunday and followed up on Wednesday. Our 3 youths shot at alot of birds. We also gave a way 6 orange vests and signed 40 + people for a free subscription to the QF Whistlers magazine.
