It was not a native hunt and they are not allowed to use machine guns on their hunts. In the past they were to use primative ways of getting the whales, canoes and hand made harpoons. From the sounds of it they are taking advantage of the government on this one.

They should be charged and the tribe have their special privledges takin away for a couple years. let their council think about what their people did and let them know there are consiquences to all actions weather they are natives or not.

How did they get the gun, well lets think about this one. How did our enemies get their weapons they are using on us? From us, alot of countries are using our own weapons against us. If we would keep ahold of our weapons the other countries would not have anything to fight with but thats a whole nother topic.

The point here though is that these guys were shooting at a whale that is other wise protected, this tribe is givin permission to hunt the whales for cultural reasons, their culture has never had machine guns, which if hunting a whale i have never heard of a gun being used in the first place. So i say fine them big time and take the privaliges of the tribe away for a certain amount of time. let their council learn that they should have control over thier people and that the whole tribe should have to deal with this.

I thought about posting a pic of my camo hummer (USMC) with the .50 cal mounted on it but decided to go with the bigger gun.

50 cal full auto would have to be mounted..If they had this gun I'm sure they where shooting it at times other than when they got caught on this hunt..Someone surely has heard this gun being shot or seen it mounted on their boat..A full auto has its own unique sound out in the woods..I wonder if it was mis-reported as a machine gun and it was actually a simi-auto or a bolt action or a single shot 50 cal BMG....

Also, the "hunters" were not authorized by the tribe. They've been turned over to tribe officials for trial now. I hope the government doesn't waste the whale though since it is already dead. The ones who shot it though should not be allowed any of it.

yeah technically a 12 gauge slug is a .50 cal.. which would be outlawed if he gets his twisted way....

That would pretty much outlaw firearm hunting for deer then, wouldn't it? I know some folks who love hunting with semi-auto shotguns who would vote for Blago again just because of his political party. People have got to start looking past the party and at the person.
