Anyone going to be doing any winter crappie fishing? I usually do pretty good crappie fishing in this kind of weather. All you have to do is find a school of them and just anchor up. I like to use minnows on a slip cork. Or just jig for them with a beetle spin.
I don't fish all that much, but a pile of fried crappie sounds awesome right now.
you should really try crappie fishing its about the easiest fishing there is next to bluegill. Besides crappie are i think the best tasting fish around here. And the big ones put up a hell of a fight. Right now they are going down deep. Deepending on the lake they are probably about 15 to 30 feet. The bigger ones are usually deeper then the rest of the school. Need anymore tips about fishing just ask.
I've crappie fished before and I agree its a blast. I just don't go all that often. But they are my favorite eating fish. I like jugging for cats too.
jugging. That is great way to catch alot of cats. And its really fun. I go jugging in the summer down on the kaskaskia river. We usually set out some jugs and then while we are waiting we throw go tight lining(rod and reel). Its great fun
