there's a drying up spot on the blacktop that goes to DeSoto (straight across 13/127 from Rt 4) that is full of egrets and herons.....I also noticed Mr. Bob when I came by the little pond on the N side of 13 - the first one after Shamrock - that it was chock full of egrets and herons...
But I'm afraid if I park on the shoulder there to shoot..the New Athens city kitty will come and run me off...do you know if I can get by with parking there?

You can park along the road, but not up close to the bridge. There are signs where you can't park. People park there to hunt shrooms and rabbits all the time. That one little pond is about gone. the one across the road on the South side, had a bunch of fish die in there too..

Thanks Bob! I've had enough run ins when I've been shooting stuff that I've gotten a little cautious....
