This is what we've called bear paws...a crappy shot..number 156 of when I got my first dslr and had no clue what I was doing! LOL from 2005...

I haven't ever eaten any..but have friends who do...by the time I find them they are usually starting to get a little too old for me to trust...
what's wrong with the pic? the background looks good, the shroom just washed out or what?

I have found alot of them where logs fall across the road and they have cut them....like on the end part..growing out of the end of the log..You can ride around back roads and find a lot of them..they are good broiled in butter or fried in garlic and butter..The one in that pic looks like its been there for a while..

so we were on the same page about bear claws? that's always been my trouble..the one's I find aren't fresh enough to suit me...and yeah BamBam I blew out the detail on the shroom....and it was before I started shooting RAW so there was no rescuing the shot...
