Me and my chocolate lab started our 2nd season together this past saturday with a dove hunt. i noticed now that she is 2 yrs old and this is her second season, she is alot steadier and knows what the game is. She now , thanks to some great shots by her papa(A.K.A Me) lol has more than 100 retrieves and some darn good ones too because papa cant kill them stone cold dead. but she has done great. with that bein said i want to give a thanks out to Wintermarsh Retrievers in sparta Illinois. Terry Smith owns and trains the dogs and without his help this could not be possible. I tried training her myself and just about ruined the dog but i put her in terry's hands and i have a great bird dog now. makes my job alot easier! I cant wait till duck season now!

I have noticed that the closer Buddy gets to 2 (or what we think is two) the better he is doing with his training...and also Scott gave me some super advice....His attention span is getting much better and he's doing pretty good in public...still not quite as good as Dolly, but she's got several years on him! oh for the newbies...Dolly and Buddy don't hunt, they are service dogs... :)

Riverrat must be duckiller_00 on the refuge....Hmm. Nothing like hunting over a dog that does it right. You need to come hunt with us sometime,since your so close and i actually moved closer to red bud over this past summer!

Working w/ a pro trainers help and putting in the time will get you a good dog. Makes it a joy to go out now huh??? Nes has picked up a few dove already as well.
