I use a Summit cobra climber on about 80 % of my bow hunts, its sturdy and comfortable, but heavy. I'm considering a Lone wolf climber for next season. I know they're pricey but considering the time I put in and the long hikes I take it'd be worth it. What do you all use?

On a side note I went to Rural King Thursday and picked up a Hunters View Razor hang on for 39.99 and 20 ft climbing sticks for 29.99. 70 bucks for a nice bowhunting setup is a steal. I already have one of the stands, its nice quality and bearable to sit in. They still had a pile of them left too, so check em out.

Man you said it. Rural King is a great place to get set up for a nominal fee. I have 3 sets of those 20' sticks, and 4 of their stands. You can't beat the prices. I'm going there after Christmas.

Now if your looking for a light climber I may suggest these...

My bro, MadadaM, has one, and I used it this year. That thing is light, you could pack it all day. 15 pounds I think. I haven't used Lone Wolf, but hear nothing but good things about them as well.

I also have the Summit Cobra, have been using it for about 5 years.
I added the better shoulder straps and also the side bags.
Mine has the bladder seat where you have to blow up both halves of it.

I was debating myself about a new climber after this season and was looking at LW.

I went to Rural King last week and they also had another hang on stand for $29.99, dont recall the name.

I have been using Summit stands since the first model way back in the 80's. Great, sturdy stands. Yes, they can be quite a load. Mine is 20 lbs. Like Flatlander, I added the padded backpack straps which made a world of difference. Still heavy though.

I have heard nothing but good about Lone Wolf and am contemplating switching over. I like the fact that they fold flat too. A flat stand packs lighter. Try doing a search for Lone Wolf on www.bowsite.com. Tons of reviews on there for them.

i own a trophy tree lounge. this stand is the epitome of all tree stands. its light weight, comfortable, and very safe. only draw back is that its kinda pricey, but you'll never have to buy another tree stand. i can seriously sit the whole day and be comfortable. matter of fact i have problems staying awake because its so comfortable. it also can double as a deer caddy for those big bucks that cant be drug by hand. heres the website.

Bob's bro here. The stand my brother is referring to is a Timbertall BRUTE LITE. They are made here in Middleburg Pa. They have a range of climbers to suit your needs and a cart to boot. My stand weighs in at 14.5 pounds which makes it a joy to pack in anywhere especially when you don't know exactly where you are going to put up at. i.e hunting a new area. It is rated to 300 pounds. The seat is o.k but could use some padding. They also have a model that is only 12 pounds but the platform is slightly smaller. They make a larger model for you larger fellas that is rated to 300 pounds and allows for a wider girth but it weighs 17 pounds which is still super light. All climbers also are equipped with self leveling screws which makes it easy to adjust once you start up the tree. I paid 250 bones for my stand and I think the largest stand is around 350-400. Check em out if your in the market for a really light stand.:D

Just got back from Rural King... Picked up their last set of 20' climbing sticks for $31 and change (including tax). They had plenty of 15 footers for $23 I believe. I wish they had more 20 footers.... The stands were good deals too. If you need hang ons or ladder stands now is the time to get em.

I picked up a set of the 20' foot climbing sticks at Rural King yesterday. There were still about 20 left then. Man, they went fast! Couldn't beat the price though! I also bought a Remington 30/06 strap-on treestand...I got the last one of those. Bob, thanks for putting out the word on the tree stand sale.

I went there wanting some goose decoys. There were no decoys there, but the steps were a great deal.

I was thinking about getting a double ladder stand so I could take the boy with me next year on a couple of bow hunts.

What kind of price did they have on the double ladder stands ?

I think they had 15 footers for about $90 FL. I was thinking I may need to go back myself....
