I've never had a chance to use a Canon DSLR, so I can't really compare the two. I'm happy with my Nikon, though. Many argue that Canon is superior due to less high ISO noise, but Nikon just announced it's newest two cameras, the D300 and D3, which are supposed to improve that drastically.. either matching or surpassing Canon's ISO performance. The D3 goes all the way up to ISO 25,600. (yes, not a typo, ISO 25 thousand and six hundred) Canon's highest only goes to 6400. Nikon is generally regarded as having better ergonomics. That said, I'm sure I'd be happy if I'd chosen to go with Canon too. The 5D is an amazing camera that I would certainly love to have the chance to work with. |
