I guess the target practice from shooting all those carp has paid off. Like you said, you don't have any excuse now for missing a deer. How the heck did you hit that dove with an arrow? How many misses before you got one?

well I know for a fact that squirrel are taken all the time with bows so its not that I think this is impossible....I just wondering did he have a line attached to the arrow? And was it in flight when the shot was made.. Sorry like I said not tryin to steal anybody's thunder. But I think others out there are interested on how this was done so they can learn this fantastic skill..

well you all know I am off into metal detecting . I have seen picks of old Civil War bullets that have been dug up and its two bullets that hit each other directly head on and fussed together. So anything is possible.

Greatshot carp, whether sitting or flying.
I have seen one shot in flight once, it was pretty amazing and the guy quit after that one. It was a guy that came out hunting with my dad when I was a kid, two doves got up and dad shot one with his shotgun, the other guy got one with a bow. They congratulated each other on their great shots then went back to the house.

LOL, Well, yes I did shoot it in flight. But the whole story is less impressive.
We've been having some doves in our driveway right in front of our archery target. Two were in a depression just to the left and behind it and one flew down on the gravel. I snuck up behind the truck to get a shot at the one in the gravel. When he walked into the clear, I was totally busted. I drew and shot anyway and the arrow was right on the mark but the dove was faster. The arrow struck the driveway as the dove lifted it's feet just above it. :( As that dove spooked the other two took off. The arrow skipped and caught one of the other doves just as it rose off the grass. :D
If I was smarter. (That's funny) I'd tell you that it was my Byron Ferguson Dove clinic.
Thanks.

Luck counts as many points as skill, right?

well the fact is your shot got it and thats what counts.. I posted a story when I first signed up on this board about my brother killing a rabbit with a hatchet. My Bro was standing with the hatchet in his hand and this spooked rabbit jumped head first into the blade killing it dead at his feet.. Great shot and great story..Thanks for sharing it with us all..
