I was part of a massive national layoff. I have been with the company for over 10 years. I was one of 900 employees laid off today... Fun Fun!!!

Not really looking for sympathy, just looking for leads to a new job/career.

I was a Network Field Engineer; I worked all over the US installing/uninstalling/troubleshooting network facilities and applicable gear.
I have been with this company for 10 years working in everything from a simple POTS line install to testing and troubleshooting OC48 feeds. I am very familiar with many areas of Municipal WIFI, Data Center infrastructure, Broadband over Power Lines, and Communications backbone facilities. I have had high security access to many telecommunication facilities, and collocations.

I should have a resume ready for distribution by the end of this week.

Jeff, that sounds like my employer letting everyone go on a Tuesday. They user to refer to black Tuesdays because so many of their employees would be laid off on Tuesdays.

How far are you willing to commute or move?

BTW that does suck...sorry. The bright side is you get a sixer tonight by default... LOL

As goes the life of the contractor, I live the same way day to day. With a wave of the hand and new company can step in....

I'm sure we'll all help you network a much as we can..but you have to admit, drawing rocking chair during hunting season might not be all bad...just trying to find something positive for you today!
