I've also made it a point t o get to know DNR Staff in the neighborhood and offer volunteer time on more local level. I think the more we can get to know our friends at DNR the better it makes our outdoor experience.
Given that all of our state agencies are being asked to do more with less, it behooves us as sportsmen and conservationists to get to know the DNR staff in our neighborhoods and offer a hand now and then :)
VERY VERY RARELY have I ever had bad experience with a DNR staffer. All have been great help to me and have often bent over backwards and to help out with anything they can. It's great to get a phone call from a DNR person with a heads up for a photo op, or just "hey Gretchen..guess what we've got going on over here"
