flew into St. Louis today, (boy, are my arms tired!) anyway the storm that ripped thru about 3- 3:30 closed the airport for a bit so we chugged around SIL,
I took this pic of the Chester Bridge, sorry its kinda blurry, we were way up there! also a shot of baldwin you dont see very often, we flew over Marissa, sparta, chester, ellis grove, was pretty cool, we made three circles and the pilot announced if we didnt get to land soon we were going to have to go somewhere to get more fuel, GREAT! the storm moved thru enuf for us to slip in from the west, WHAT A ROUGH F%#*@ RIDE! kinda scary. the cloud pic was probably somewhere around fairview o'fallon. the top of the storm!

I am with ya.....We would like to go to Germany my hubs mom is from there and he has two brothers over there ,but I am unsure about flying.:eek: He used to but I don't know and I would have to take my kiddies too...whoo..........Seems like Huntrz does it regularly though and he is still around...lol.............

It's kinda funny that I can't deal with heights, but inside an airplane I'm just fine.

I took that route into STL before... saw Baldwin, then up over New Athens, Could see the water tower, and hence my house. I say "There's my house"... people look at you funny. like yeah right, he must be slow or something. Having the GPS up there is cool... tell folks you're going 350 MPH...LOL

Flying is the easy part, getting to the airport, through security, wait for plane, get off get bags get home is the long part. Go fly.... it's safer than drivin next to a bunch of folks with a phone in their ear...

The last time I flew was in a little commuter jet in the Appilachian mountains going to Boone NC....at night..in a thuderstorm...everytime the lightening flashed, you could see the mountain face...all I could think of was the Pasty Cline Story...I decided if I lived long enough to get off the plane I'd never get on another....I hated flying before that...after that NOOOOOO!!!!
It didn't help that when I was still working in EMS I worked several plane crash scenes... oh my...
