I was wondering if anyone has archery deer hunted ever at River King, Washington County Lake, or Kaskaskia River Fish And Wild Life Area before? I was considering going to one of those places this year. I see deer often when I fish at River King. i also wanted to know if you could drive atv's to your tree stand and also to haul deer out of the woods on these public lands.

All I know is, NO atv's On Public ground, unless you are handicapped, and then only with a special permit.

I think some people didn't get the memo on the NO ATVs!

I have hunted Wahsington County 2 times. The first time was my first ever bow hunt, and I wiffed on a nice 125'' buck. It seems to be a worthwhile place. Especially if you can put in some time to scout it.

Another spot you might consider is Stephen Forbes and Ramsey State Park. Both have excellent deer populations and Forbes is one of the few sites open for archers during gun season as well. Forbes is alos a darn good crappie lake as well.

I think @ River King you can hunt the North side until Nov 1. Thats the side with all the crops. But after that you have to hunt the scrub ground on the other side of the road. I actually saw a few deer there lastnight crossing from the south to the north.
