I don't know...you couldn't pyay me to go up in that thing!!! I take the metro link and then walk over to the Arch grounds and the riverfront early in the am...beats the heck out of driving....
I also have been taking the metro to the docs...get off at the Central West end stop and poof you are right there at Barnes..especially nice with all the chaos and construction on 40 and kingshighway.

Yea, we couldn't figure out the parking for it now, We went up before but I don't know after hearing about that cable snapping or whatever..It reminded me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory when he gets into that little machine at the end......lmao.....I thought I might see UMPAA's up on top or something....
That specialist I seen was all the way out on 270 so it wasn't bad at all for us.....and then of course you know we had to stop in at Bass Pro....wouldn't be a trip to STL without it.....and IMO's pizza......lol....

It's a cool ride to the top if you haven't been.

If you watch the top form the ballpark after dark you can see flashes going off up there... You take pics of them, while they take pics of you....

you know I have not taken a pic of the arch for about 10 -15 years, I used to have one I took about 25 years ago with my 35mm, wish I could find it, very unusual angle. I lived in beautiful Cahokia Illinois while the Arch was being built, and could see it from my front yard, I was fascinated with the whole deal, seeing the legs come together, when it was finally done, my dad took me over to see it up close, as we were driving along the river coming up to it I looked up and got dizzy, didn't want no part of that thing then, my dad drug me up that hill kickin screaming and crying and made me touch it, I had a great fear of heights for years after that, finally got over it when I was 19 by climbing up an old dilapitaded water tower in belleville and painting my name where it could be seen from my house.

I can joke about it now because I survived, not everyone was so lucky, it's like I told my daughter, the 70's were an experiment gone bad on what happens when everyone does whatever they want with no rules! guess this could start a whole other post...

.....and then of course you know we had to stop in at Bass Pro....wouldn't be a trip to STL without it.....

Of course. Have you checked out the Cabela's store yet? It's really cool too. I can do without Imo's though. Personal preference, but I make a better pizza than they do. ;)

No, he likes Bass Pro way better....but we might stop in there next time who knows....I gotta go back up on the 30th of this month so well see...
I can do without IMOS too...lol...I really don't care for it...He just loves that cheese though....it's almost like velvetta or something the way it sticks to the roof of your mouth.
I like waltz the best, in Marion -double decker or thin ....and then in second is Papa Murphy's Take and Bake-Delite believe it or not...it's really good and only cost like 6 bucks. I bring it home pop it in and cook it for 10 mins then dinners done....lol.

Now, were way off subject....lol.

I like Papa Murphy's Sicilian pizza.

Cabela's has some really cool aquariums. They also have some taxidermy exhibits including an artificial mountain with trout swimming between the legs of the stuffed elk. They also have a general store in back with different types of fudge (my wife bought a box of that) and fruit butters.
