I was going to head up to carlyle this coming weakend for some crappie fishing. I fished saturday at Pyramid and caught 10 or 12 nice crappie up shollow so I figured they will start biting at carlyle buy this coming weakend.

They've been working the sunken X-mas tree's pretty hard in Allen branch. Didn't stick around long enough to see if they was catching any however. I was just driving through.

I went to carlyle on friday. Betwean my dad and me we managed to ketch 10 or 11 keepers. Mainly fished around Coles creek, Pepinhorse and Allen branch. There now spawning but they are getting shollower. Most of the fish came from 6 feet of water around stumps or christmas trees. We caught more non-keepers then we did keepers but one of the keepers was 14 inches. Good luck.

Which lakes at Pyramid have crappie? I'll be heading down there tomorrow for gobblers, and plan on fishing each day after hunting's done. You using live bait, or artificial?

Haven't heard or seen a 14" crappie out of Carlyle in a while! That's good news. Thanks for the update.
