I have never seen one only at the zoo. I am wondering where the pic is from also ? And wth did you do to it to get that pic with the open mouth like that ? JPH 08-15-2007, 21:46 Looks to me like a good old fashion cottonmouth!........Haha Gary Bartlow 08-16-2007, 10:49 The pic was taken near Grand Tower in the bottoms,Yes you are correct the bigger older ones are darker mostly black.Their color has alot to do whith when they shed their skin last. He was just layin in the road mindin his own business and i threw a rock at him to get him to "preform" for the camera. It is NOT a copperhead, they are lighter brown, and have the "Hersheys kisses" on their sides, and copperheads don't have white inside their mouths.I have a real good pic of one I'll post when I get home/think about it. I have got some great snake pics in the last 2 years.Last year I found 2 rattlers in the same day ! FunGusAmonGus 08-16-2007, 13:12 deff. not a copperhead .. I seen a rattler on the road just past where you turn to go up to Pine Hills even though it was run over an dead I still didn't like messin with it. DetectDave 08-16-2007, 13:21 I was going to drive up there the other day and the sign said that the road is still closed. It's a little late for that still to be closed for migration isn't it? Joe 08-16-2007, 18:00 DEFINATELY a cottonmouth...and a humdinger at that. lifestudent55 08-16-2007, 21:26 I've seen a few of those while fishing off the bank at Baldwin and casting toward the bank at Rend and Carlyle. |
