What no close ups?

Almost 20 years of huntin' in Central and Western Kentucky and in Southern Illinois and I have NEVER seen a timber rattler in the wild. What an awesome snake. Glad that you didn't kill him or the cottonmouth. Awesome pics Gary. Thanks.

They taste like chicken! Everyone asks what rattlesnake tastes like when you tell them you've ait it, I always say "like an owlt," then some will ask "what does an owl taste like" then I will say "kinda like a hawk" then they'll ask what a hawk tastes like and I'll say "kinda like a rabbit... eventaually I'll say "kinda like a chicken."

Too bad they are illegal to harvest and eat, though my wife might kinda freak if she opened the freezer and saw a dead rattler in there!

I have some close ups from a couple of years ago somewhere...well until Critter figured out what I was doing and drug me kicking and screaming away from the fella...funny my dad used to do that to me too....I am always careful, and use a relatively long lens...and I don't antagonize them....
