TOOK THIS LAST NIGHT LOOKING WEST FROM THE INDIANA DUNES STATE PARK, (NO IT WASN'T IN ILLINOIS, BUT IT WAS LOOKING BACK TOWARDS ILLINOIS)
IT WAS OVERCAST FOR AWHILE, THEN THE CLOUDS OPENED UP AND LET THE SUNSHINE THRU, THIS PLACE NEVER LETS ME DOWN, EVERYTIME I'VE BEEN THERE THE SKY OPENS UP FOR THESE DRAMATIC SUNSETS

OMG...That's gorgeous! I have a friend who shoots at the dunes on a regular basis..I am so envious....I feel like I never get out of Hooterville anymore....I shjould send you some links for photo contests, Photo of the Day type things etc...you could be a contender! BTW are you planning on kicking my butt at the Du Quoin fair with photos...or maybe BamBam's gonna do it...folks on here are just too good!!

Cool Huntrz...you were only about 10 minutes from one of my photog pals when you are at the Dunes...looks like the lake was pretty rough!
those are all really nice..I think I like theone withthe frieghter best...
The Dunes is such a cool place....I love it there..

I did a sofa sized print of the hillside in #5 for some folks in STL...LOL

Thanks for bringing back some great memories of my youth Huntrz. I remember getting burnt pretty good on that sand while doing my best to impress some young ladies. Burnt enough that I passed out when I got home and that was in the days when I didn't PUI or even have a cold one. Ma was worried. Dad said I was a dumb$#%^ with a college education and no common sense.....LOL. I said, "Dad, common sense ain't so common any more."

All I can say is AWESOME!

I know, but sometimes I like to break the rules Bam, by putting the sun in the center, my eye follows around it looking at everything else, the ice chunks, the stick down in front, the smoke stacks at the far left, the waves on the right and makes me spend a little more time in the clouds. just MHO.

You've got a good point there Huntrz. I noticed the ice chunks in the foreground long before looking at the sun.

Makes me homesick for the deck of a good ship.
