I'm bass fishing Rend Lake this Sunday any good places to go?

Usually where there is water from what I heard!:D
Has anyone else heard that?

Their web site has a fishing report that's just a couple days old (as opposed to both of the reports for Carlyle that are usually a month or so old). They recommend Jackie Branch, North Marcum area, structure near creek channels, submerged foundations for bass. Bambam's right though. get one of the maps at Wal-mart or at the resort store. It shows where the underwater structure, fish attractors, etc.

I was just teasin..I heard alot about that Jackie Branch.....We have a tough time on rend compared to LOE....

Are you fishing in the Elk's crippled childrens tourney? If not I would try North Marcum cove during dusk the shad start to pack in there this time of year around twilight. Any shad imitating baits rattletraps ect. usually work well and you will probably catch a few white bass in the process. Last year I cat a big channel caught doing this. Thought I a had a huge bass for a few seconds.

No I'm not fishing Elks tourneyment. Just tring to get a feel for the lake. I fish Anglers Choice later this month...

We're going camping at Rend and will spend much of the time on the boat starting Sunday. Maybe we'll pass each other on the lake.

Of course, I think so...There is a big difference of what my hub catches here compared to other lakes! You get used to your home water and get to know the lake better....

We'll be in a pontoon, probably the only one you'll see there with a trolling motor and an anchor. I'm not all together sure you'll be the only brother out there in a bass boat. I'll probably be the only one with a Korean wife fishing with them (and probably outfishing me).

Has anyone been to any of the state parks to see if they're open with the budget impasse? Does the store at the Rend Lake resort fall under the state?
