I've been getting the same vibes! Started cleaning and restringing reels last night. Sure wish all this wind would die down (especially for baldwin)! I'll come back to this post if I get out there soon. Probably just need boat show season to start up to get me pumped to get back out on the water.

Up here my way where Coffeen Lake is just down the road gets me itching also. It seems the colder it gets the better the fishing. They generate more power at the plant and the more "hot' water released into the lake. Fish from the bank and get a good fire going to keep warm (check regulations on fires first) and enjoy the day. I have to admit it's been a few winters doing this but it sure is fun!
There's a parking lot right on the hot water arm so it is convenient for just that and one at the south end of the dam.

I don't know about cats, but I've talked to guys who pull crappie out of Baldwin all winter. In fact, it sems to be better for crappie in the winter than summer.

Ive Never Fished Baldwin In The Dead Winter With All The Hunting Seasons Going On But I Usually Hit Baldwin From March To September Pretty Regularly. My Favorite Times Are Between May-june. Caught Many Cats Over 30lbs Outta Baldwin But Nothing More. They Are Out There.

The more brutal it is for the humans.. the better the fishing seems to be at Baldwin...however - just to nasty for me to even try this week...
