Red will have lots more info for ya soon... http://www.jalc.edu/sihfdtest/index.html Bob 08-01-2007, 09:23 That site doesn't have much info... the links are all the same... EJoe 08-01-2007, 10:08 Just noticed that....they dont go anywhere. Ill did some info up from past events and tell the guys in charge about it. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46227 Here is the info from the N. Illinois event. Lots of the same stuff going on down south. We have been doing a on water bowfishing range with sunk foam footballs for the past 3 years. It is very popular and will be much larger this year. www.huntingandfishingdays.org Zingnut 08-01-2007, 14:26 Is it still the last weekend in Sept. that this event takes place at Logan College. ~Jeff EJoe 08-01-2007, 15:03 Is it still the last weekend in Sept. that this event takes place at Logan College. ~Jeff Its always the 3rd weekend in Sept. all over the country. BAM 09-20-2007, 21:00 Prolly not for me....do they have anti shake bows too? lol....just kidding...aim low right.....Im making a list.... does the bow have to be a certain bow or can you use any ol bow or what? carpsniper 09-21-2007, 10:30 Prolly not for me....do they have anti shake bows too? lol....just kidding... I wish they did. I probably could use one. LOL does the bow have to be a certain bow or can you use any ol bow or what? Just about any bow that will fling an arra will do Bam. I like recurves because they're light weight (actual weight of the bow not necessarily the draw weight. draw weight is the force it takes to pull the string back.) Most archery shops have used bows for sale cheap. I'm talkin' less than $100. I've seen several in the $25 to $40 range. Just make sure that it is light enough for you in both the draw weight and physical weight departments.:) One other thing to remember is that the rest that is on it may not be heavy enough to support a fiberglass fish arrow. Clear as mud right? :D Don't worry we'll get you set-up. Christine and I have to go down your way sometime. When we do we'll make sure to pack a couple of extra bows for you and G to try. BAM 09-21-2007, 12:13 My hubs bow that he has now is 65draw for deer hunting.......I can't budge it......now, my nephew has 40 and I could pull it back but I don't think I would get a good shot on a deer....lmao........ G and I shooting a bow:eek: .....I don't think anyone would wanna be around:o .....lmao......Shooting with a camera and shooting with a bow is two different things.....lol..:D carpsniper 09-21-2007, 14:32 ...now, my nephew has 40 and I could pull it back G and I shooting a bow:eek: .....I don't think anyone would wanna be around:o ..... ...lol..:D If you can handle 40lbs then you're good to go. Christine's bow is set down to about 30lbs. LOL yeah we'd be there. Hey with you two shooting fish, someone's gotta get it on film! ;) duckman1120 09-21-2007, 16:06 my buddy is wade walling EJoe 09-21-2007, 18:10 My hubs bow that he has now is 65draw for deer hunting.......I can't budge it......now, my nephew has 40 and I could pull it back but I don't think I would get a good shot on a deer....lmao........ G and I shooting a bow:eek: .....I don't think anyone would wanna be around:o .....lmao......Shooting with a camera and shooting with a bow is two different things.....lol..:D No worries about the bow. We have several Genisis bows in the 20-25lb range and a couple Oneidas that will go 25-50 lbs I believe. We bought these all for the shows and for taking guests out. Come next spring, you and Gretchen can both come out with me in the skiff. Im sure you will have a great time and nail a few. If you were going to buy a bow.....I like recurves but they are not for everyone. You can try several different ones that we have this spring and see what one you like best! |
