Here is the info from the N. Illinois event. Lots of the same stuff going on down south. We have been doing a on water bowfishing range with sunk foam footballs for the past 3 years. It is very popular and will be much larger this year.

This being the first year there, we will only have an info booth. Lots of pics and equiptment demos. BUT.....next year there will be a bowfishing range there just like the one we have in Yorkville. Already got the go ahead from the director of the event for it.

That will be terrific next year! But I'm pretty dumb about it all so even what you have this year will be helpful and I am sure a learning experience!

I wish they did. I probably could use one. LOL

Just about any bow that will fling an arra will do Bam. I like recurves because they're light weight (actual weight of the bow not necessarily the draw weight. draw weight is the force it takes to pull the string back.)
Most archery shops have used bows for sale cheap. I'm talkin' less than $100. I've seen several in the $25 to $40 range. Just make sure that it is light enough for you in both the draw weight and physical weight departments.:)
One other thing to remember is that the rest that is on it may not be heavy enough to support a fiberglass fish arrow.
Clear as mud right? :D
Don't worry we'll get you set-up. Christine and I have to go down your way sometime. When we do we'll make sure to pack a couple of extra bows for you and G to try.

If you can handle 40lbs then you're good to go. Christine's bow is set down to about 30lbs.

LOL yeah we'd be there. Hey with you two shooting fish, someone's gotta get it on film! ;)

No worries about the bow. We have several Genisis bows in the 20-25lb range and a couple Oneidas that will go 25-50 lbs I believe. We bought these all for the shows and for taking guests out. Come next spring, you and Gretchen can both come out with me in the skiff. Im sure you will have a great time and nail a few. If you were going to buy a bow.....I like recurves but they are not for everyone. You can try several different ones that we have this spring and see what one you like best!
