Well, I got to the woods today about 12:00 and man was it nice. I thought I was gonna burn up before I saw any deer. About 3:30 I finally saw a button buck come over the hill, but that wasn't what I was looking for. 4 o'clock rolls around and I see a doe come on over by herself, but she seems rushed. I noticed antlers moving through the brush. I very quietly stood up and got ready. I texted my Dad and he gave me confidence to shoot a 40 yard shot because I usually don't shoot that far. After a long 20 minutes the buck stepped out quartering away at 40 yards. I drew back. Then the buck made a quick turn into a little bush. So, I had to let my draw down. Right as I start I hear something run off behind me. It was 3 does!! This startled the buck, but he didn't know what did it. He started to step out again so I drew back. As I do, he steps out and stares right at me. There was no time to waste. I let the arrow fly. The arrow hits perfect and I watch as the deer runs off and falls 60 yards from where it was shot.
