I've been there and it ain't pretty!
I have good idea, why don't I kneel down in some high grass and try to get some photos of a butterfly or a moth, and while I'm at it, lets just put bug spray everywhere except your right forearm, yea, thats it now, don't move, stay perfectly still you dont want to scare them away do ya?, it's harder for the chiggers to find you if your moving so just sit tight.

I'll never learn, I have over 60 chigger bites just on my right arm, that's right the one I use to spray the off, hard to spray the arm your using to spray, now what, I just got over a batch of chiggers on my waist ankles and behind my knees from last week. so far I scratched the heck out of 'em, rubbed alcohol on them then put some benadryl gel on them. AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I should have known when the this little butterfly landed on my hand and wouldn't leave that maybe I missed a few spots with the OFF.

Well, that's a shot that would just about make it worth it...it's simply perfect! Wonderful detail, lighting, color..it's all good!
Suffice it to say that Friday before I relized what I had done I spent about 20 minutes laying in the weeds shooting the gayfeathers and rattlesnake masters...without bug spray...need I say more?? scratch..scratch..scratch...

RLF is dead on with the ammonia..just soak a cotton ball in it and dab it on the bites..works great!

We've found Afterbite is very effective for most insect bites. It contains ammonia as its active ingredient. My uncle got us using it when he owned a sporting goods store in Michigan several years ago.

Hah! That's why I started using ammonia..the After Bite worked really well, so I looked to see what the active ingedient was!

this snake let me get within 18 inches and take about 9 pics before he moved on, he just kept looking at me, probably thinking, "Geez, can't I go anywhere without these reptile paparazzis following me around?"

Bamalama-ding-dong, here is the photo of snake uncropped, I cropped not only to get a little closer but also because I thought the layout of photo should be horizontal since the snake is horizontal.
