North end is pretty wrecked out and nigh on to impassable.. even Gazza gave it up..
South end not so bad.. can get a fair piece down the road, but with so many trees down, not as easy to get up into the talus and the bluff edges.. and the spots where the canopy got opened up yeegads.. tons of stinging nettle.
no pawpaws.. Gazza and I are suspicious that the storm knocked the blossoms off resulting in no fruit this year. I have pics, but just got in a little bit ago and they probably won't get up until tomorrow AM-
So is it still worth a trip to snake road? I'd say yes.. if you go with the idea in mind that you are going to have to do a fair amount of brush busting, and there will be parts that are non navigable at the moment.. also if you understand that the undergrowth is way thicker than usual due to the open spots in the canopy. The road bed itself is narrowed in comparison to other years and more grown up but it's still well worth it if you want to go hunting herps :D

One of the more cooperative fellows...( shot with the 200 ) yes Harry, I just have to get nose to nose with 'em LOL )

North end a couple hundred yards along the road.

I climbed to the top and saw no gap. We followed a trail that looks like it was trying to find a way around. It dead ends after 10-15 minutes. Looks like alot of people did the same - followed the trail and turned back. Makes for a great trail, very attractive. Ran into a few guys half my age on the way back. They decided to try to push through. Met them again a few hours later on the south end. They said they worked at it for an hour, finding the road again. An opening of about 40 feet then blocked solid again.
I've never seen anything like it. Solid mass of downfall. Usually you spend some time on the ground and can crawl under as much as climb over. I couldn't see the ground/road through it all. Way too dangerous and exhausting.

Debunk it is at LaRue Pine Hills. Going south on Rt. 3 as soon as you cross the Big Muddy River near Wolf Lake you turn left, at the T you go right for the north end of the road. To get to the south end go to the next road south on Rt. 3 and you will see the signs.
