We have a great little get together every Fall in Bond County called the Ripson Bridge Festival. Built in 1895.
The bridge was the last "pony truss" bridge left in the county and was due for demolition at one point. Locals got together and saved the bridge. The town of Sorento purchased it and approx. 4 acres and made a small park out of it.
The festival proceeds keep this special place going each year that pass's.
It's a beautiful setting over Shoal Creek with music, food and crafts.
Come join us if possible.
DIRECTIONS: Approx. 8 miles north of Interstate 70 at exit 36 (Pocahontas, IL). Follow the signs. :)
Sunday 10/04/09 11:00am to 5:00pm
