Believe it or not these where nice deer, you just can't tell...
Is there a way to get better wildlife photos at dusk...I talked with gretchen a little about this and she said change my setting to 400 but is there any other tricks....
Also I was driving in the car on this and ERCK.....stopped and shot ( the camera) and then drove on....

I think you need more light and a faster shutter speed...this looks like classic low light camera shake...I don't know enough about point and shoot cameras to tell you how to fix it...fellas???You guys that are using pand S cameras? How does this get corrected with one of them???

With that low of light, you really need to use a tripod or something else to hold the camera absolutely steady. I just ordered a little Bogen window mount for the car - it clips onto the window. You still need to turn the car off to eliminate all movement and vibration, but you'll be able to tell the difference immediately!

Bam, couple of things you can do. First of all invest the $40 in the window mount! I put both my cams on multiple shot burst so I take 4-5 pictures at once then you can choose the best. My Minolta has a remote shutter release, I've never used it but I'm sure it would help. Also, if you get the window mount you could use the timer to prevent shake from your finger releasing the shutter.

Thanks MDOC, now, will that work with my new cam too? Yea, I killed the motor and even sit it on top of the car but the pics were bad, those were the best out of the whole group. I just finally stopped taking pics and enjoyed my ice cream, like everyone else.......what the hay right? lol.

Oh yea, I need a remote thingy......where do I get those? I think maybe my settings are still off too.......Plus, the kids moving doesn't help too...They get excited about the deer too..

I dont remember what kind of camera you ae currently using. Know your waiting for that Canon lol. But both of mine have up to 3 different user setting...so depending upon the situation you can set 1 for bright sunllight. 2 for cloudy days. 3 for lowlight with differnt combinations of ISO, metering... Also there should be an option for resetting all your setting. And starting over. A lot of times I just shoot in Auto mode first then try Aperture Priority and see what works best. Sometimes its just too dark for a good shot at the distance we have to shoot deer.

I added my cam under my signature.......I guess we all should do that.......that's a question that gets asked all the time............lol......

I try auto first too.....but at night like that it don't work......I usually go down to custom or manual for dusk settings like that and my iso is 400.....then I just mess with all the other settings until I can at least tell there is a deer in the pic.......lol........thanks again!

Unless like Gretchen and some others it may not always be the same camera.

I'm bringing at least one of my film cameras along just in case for the shoot out. You just never know when you'll see something a point-n-shoot won't get right.
