if there is a southern IL mycology club around? I've looked on the web and all the IL ones that I can find are located up there....I can't believe tere isn't one down here..but I sure can't seem to find any info. I'd really like to join one, I've got to get better at Id's for selling some of these shots....and knowing latin names....any help would be appreciated!

GREAT Question... I just wanna learn the right ones to eat....

I have a pretty good knowledge of which are safe to eat...but it's learning the proper name and latin name versus what we've always called them that's killing me! There is a St. Louis branch of the American Mycology Association...but darn it...I want one around here!!! I may have to call SIU....

That's a thought...but I don't know if I am knowledgeable enough...maybe that would be a good winter project for me to get a branch set up here, and then be ready to roll as soon as they start coming up in the spring....
